WHO RUNS THIS SITE

This site is run by Gambit, an independent graphic and visual designer based in London, who is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, message @mindofgambit on Instagram or reply to any email you have received from us.

WHAT IS COLLECTED, AND WHY

Commission requests

Your name, email, project type, budget, deadline, brief and any reference file you attach on the contact page. Used only to reply to you and discuss the work. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before a contract. Kept for up to 12 months after the last contact, unless the request becomes a project.

Drop alerts

Your email address when you ask to be notified about a drop. Used only to tell you when that release (or future releases) goes live. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time by asking to be removed. Deleted when you unsubscribe or alerts stop.

Arcade leaderboard

The three initials you choose, your score and when it was set. Shown publicly on the leaderboard. Don't use your real initials if you'd rather not.

Visitors online counter

A random ID made for your browser tab, so the site can count how many people are browsing. It contains nothing about you and is deleted within minutes of you leaving.

Weather and local time

The interface shows London weather and your local time. Your approximate region is worked out from your connection by our host when the page loads and shown back to you; it is not stored or logged by this site.

Settings in your browser

Your chosen style, sound and cursor settings, the SYS_DIAG position, your visit count and arcade high score are kept in your own browser's storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them at any time.

Admin login

Only the site owner has an account. Logging in sets a cookie needed for that account to work. Visitors are never asked to log in.

COOKIES AND TRACKING

No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies are used, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

WHO ELSE HANDLES IT

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which stores form submissions, drop sign-ups and site data on our behalf and keeps standard server logs. Netlify may process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, which is contacted by our server, not your browser, so it never sees your details.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data held about you, object to or restrict how it's used, and withdraw consent. Get in touch using the details above and you'll get a reply within one month. If you're unhappy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
